Day 162
Friday 15th of April 2016
Although invited to go around the Boloven plateau for 3 days by the tourists I met yesterday, I turned down the offer as I had already seen it several times, still felt bad about it though.
Ironically was invited for a BBQ at a waterfall by my landlady, which I accepted, because why not, our broken English/Lao complimented each other well. Got driven up to the waterfall after two stops to drop people off (trips with Lao always involve a side trip). Set up by the top of the waterfall we had rice and BBQ pork before walking down to swim at the bottom of the waterfall. When we got back we packed up and left, apparently picnics are short here.
On the way back we stopped off at a family member's house for drinks and BBQ pork, then back to Pakse. Headed out to dinner after a rest mostly to check up on the Lao friend from yesterday, she is on the mend. For dinner I ordered chicken pad thai, but they had no chicken to I got tofu, I was eventually served up fried rice with seafood. It can't just be a language issue.
Headed home to catch up on blogs.
