Day 130
Monday 14th of March 2016
Headed to work today and decided to go all hell for leather and plan a workshop for the end of the month. Ideally we would do it next month but with Lao new year coming up, that month is essentially a write off.
Not long after I plan this the head of the office sprung a field trip on Wednesday and reminded me he wants me to proofread an academic paper of his (?) and make it follow the style guidelines. I was fine with some light proofing but this needs serious work, I have done a half baked job, which took all day, if they want more they can list me as an author (I just realised that doesnt sound as stinging as I intended it to those outside of academic circles). Anyway, it's not my job to do the bosses work for him, I already did his son's homework once.
Spend lunch time and more walking to the bank trying to sort out why a money transfer did not work, despite the duplicate working the first time. Frustrating because I couldn't call and their services only list phone options or branches and would only let someone else make a transfer if they had a signed declaration. At least I got to sit in the air-conditioning.
Sent off a job application after work then headed to the other volunteers place for dinner with a few of the others. Nice night chatting but the room was hot even with the windows open, it just wouldn't vent.
