Day 194
Tuesday 17th of May 2016
Today was a day of navigating the old town looking for the historical sites that our tickets we got can be used in (you get 6 to use out of the 20 or so, but most look the same. We also made out way out of the old town looking for a specific ATM. Most ATM's in Vietnam allow withdrawals of 2 million dong, ($120), not much good when you get charged international fees and need to buy flights and suits.
Had a fitting for tailoring in the afternoon which was a whirlwind of hands, chalk and pins. As we were leaving I saw my shirts being rushed out to a motorbike to be whisked off to a factory.
Had dinner outside the night market before heading back to the hotel and bed.
We have discovered it will be a lantern festival on the day we were going to leave Hoi An so we are now reassessing our plans.

Think its a great Idea for you to stay another day - Ho Chi Minh is just another city really - 1 full day there is enough to see it, and the lantern festival too good an opportunity to miss.
ReplyDeleteWe saw lots of Commonwealth & ANZ Bank ATMs in Ho Chi Minh in February.
