Day 37: Saturday 12th of December 2015

Day 37
Saturday 12th of December 2015

Went for a walk to the big market today to try and find some fishtank nets for my insect monitoring. Couldn't find the stall I found last time however, so I left empty handed (it's a really big market). However, I took the opportunity to stop off at the ATM on the way home and take out 2 million bucks.

Dropped off washing and then went to the small market to buy a toilet roll cover and a cushion. As there is no shower screen this proves necessary, while the cushion is to raise the level of my seat (the table was slightly too high to use my laptop comfortably). Also walked passed a Watt to have a look.

Spent the rest of the day relaxing, playing PC games and getting dinner (chicken stuffed tofu).

I think I worked out why they don't understand when I ask for a coke, Lao grammar often requires you to state the items container (I think), so it would be a can/bottle of coke or a bag of ice, not a coke or ice.

Indeed.

"Luang" means Royal. hence Luang Prabang
