Christmas Day
Merry Christmas from Pakse, Laos!
Woke up a bit late due to slight headache but then got moving, or at least going to through internet well wishes and Christmas greetings, as well as making skype calls back home.
Headed out to lunch at one of the glitziest cafes in Pakse for Christmas lunch. Its prices and quality were comparable with Melbourne. I got a "meatball sandwich" which was a turkish roll and 2 pork meatballs on the side. Odd translation but nice.
Headed home to make more skype calls and catch up with those I missed.
Afterwards I headed to top floor bar at the royal champasak palace for pre dinner drinks and to watch the sun set at 5:30... only to find the bar didn't open until 7. So I went to the other volunteers' place and hung out there.
Dinner we went to the Italian restaurant where we spent the rest of the afternoon and well into the night. Overall a nice day (bar the one handsy guy who decided to get drunk, smoke marijuana and couldn't take a hint).
