Headed up to the Bolaven plateau today to sample a citrus farm. Its about an hour to get there, but feels a lot longer given the roads and traffic predictability.
I was going to use a manual collection method of insect collection, but once I got there they already had some sticky traps out, so I just inspected them instead, no point reinventing the wheel.
One of the local staff helped out by holding an umbrella over me...something that felt uncomfortably colonial.
Headed back to the lab to label some samples before heading home.
Went out to hot pot/bbq for christmas eve dinner, was meant to be 4 of us but ended up 2 as the other were pretty stuffed from 2 days in a row of field work.
