Day 36

Spent today sorting insect samples and asking around about a survey I want to send to some staff members to find out what they want training in. Towards the end of the day a staff member asked if they could go home.. err fine by me, I don't know what they have been told about my role here but i'm not their boss.
Walking home from work I was asked if I wanted to drink water as I passed a local shop with some staff I work with in it. I think drink water is actually a literal translation that can mean any drink, in this case Beer Lao. I politely had a glass and worked very hard to stop them refilling it constantly.
Caught up with some volunteers/expats for dinner including one I hadn't met before. Sat around and chatted for a while and left quite late... consequently I will sign off here as it is still quite late.
