Day 78
Friday 22nd of January 2016
I needed some take away containers for my insect samples so went for a walk to the big market instead of to the office. Much to my surprise, there are no plastic take away containers in Pakse, only polystyrene. Asked a restaurant owner where he got his, turns out Thailand. Ended up buying some similar containers from the small market instead, should do the job.
Upon return I went to the other volunteer's baci which is a traditional going away blessing (not religious, blessing given by village chief or similar). This was was followed by a large feast provided by the staff at the office along with karaoke set up, speakers, projector, table, beer and centerpiece.
Afterwards I headed back to the office to sort some (annoyingly dead) caterpillars only to be spooked when turning on the lights by one of the staff sleeping off the beer from the baci sleeping across 3 chairs.
For dinner we caught up with the regional organiser at the rooftop restaurant. Good to catch up.
I really need some clothes washed, I hope it doesn't rain this weekend.
